# Customer Account Loyalty Hub

{% hint style="info" %}
This feature is available on Advanced plan and above. It only works with Shopify's **New Customer Accounts** (not legacy/classic accounts).
{% endhint %}

### The shift happening right now

Shopify is making a fundamental bet: customers shouldn't need separate apps or email portals to manage their relationship with a brand. With the rise of **Shop login** and Shopify's **unified customer account**, more and more shoppers now land on a single, consistent account page across every store they buy from.

This isn't a temporary trend. It's the direction Shopify is deliberately building toward — and it has a real impact on loyalty programs.

When a customer logs in through Shop, they arrive at a page they already know and trust. **That's your most valuable real estate.** If your loyalty program isn't there, it's invisible.

By giving your loyalty program a **dedicated home** inside the customer account, you create a touchpoint that every logged-in customer sees — without friction, without navigation, without asking them to do anything extra. The account page becomes your **Loyalty Hub**.

### What is the Loyalty Hub?

The Loyalty Hub is a **full-page loyalty experience** embedded directly inside Shopify's New Customer Accounts. Instead of scattered app blocks across different pages, the Loyalty Hub brings everything into one dedicated page within the customer account.

Customers can view their points balance, browse earning opportunities, redeem rewards, track VIP tier progress, manage referrals, and review their activity history — all from a single page.

### Why use Loyalty Hub?

Without the Loyalty Hub, your customers have to piece together their loyalty information from small blocks scattered across their account page — points here, coupons there, referral somewhere else. They often miss features they didn't know existed, or give up looking for their rewards entirely.

The Loyalty Hub solves this by giving your loyalty program a **dedicated home** inside the customer account:

* **Customers actually find and use your program** — instead of overlooking small blocks, they get a full page that surfaces everything: points, rewards, earning opportunities, VIP progress, referrals
* **Earn actions happen right on the page** — customers can submit a review, enter their birthday, sign up for newsletters, or share referral links without leaving. Less friction = more participation
* **No theme editing, no Liquid code** — just add a navigation link in Shopify Admin. Works instantly with New Customer Accounts
* **You control what shows** — toggle sections on/off, reorder them, upload a hero image. Match it to your brand without touching code

### What's included in the Loyalty Hub?

The Loyalty Hub contains up to **8 sections**, each of which can be toggled on or off:

| Section              | What it shows                                                                                                 |
| -------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Points Balance** | Current points, pending points, point expiration date, and VIP tier progress |
| **My Coupons** | List of active reward coupons with discount codes, values, and expiration dates |
| **Ways to Earn** | All available earning programs (orders, birthday, reviews, social, newsletter, etc.) with interactive actions |
| **Ways to Redeem** | Spending programs with search, filter, and sort capabilities |
| **VIP Tiers** | Current tier, benefits, and progress toward the next tier |
| **Referral** | Referral link sharing and referral activity history |
| **Wallet Pass** | Apple Wallet and Google Wallet loyalty pass download |
| **Activity History** | Paginated timeline of all loyalty activities |

{% hint style="info" %}
Sections that aren't relevant to your store are automatically hidden. For example, if you haven't set up a VIP program, the VIP Tiers section won't appear. Same for Referral and Wallet Pass.
{% endhint %}

### How to set up the Loyalty Hub

{% embed url="<https://youtu.be/MGqDBSBs798>" %}

{% stepper %}
{% step %}
**Open Loyalty Hub settings**

In the **Joy Loyalty** app, go to **On-site content** → **Account page** tab. You'll see the **Loyalty Hub** card at the top with a **Recommended** badge. Click **Setup**.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
**Configure the Hub page**

On the Loyalty Hub settings page, you can:

* **Upload a hero image** — Add a banner image at the top of the Hub page
* **Adjust hero image height** — Control the banner height in pixels
* **Toggle sections on/off** — Use the eye icon to show or hide any section
* **Reorder sections** — Drag and drop to change the order sections appear
* **Reset to default** — Restore the original section order and visibility
  {% endstep %}

{% step %}
**Open the Customer Account editor**

On the Loyalty Hub settings page, click the **Go to account editor** button. This opens the Shopify Customer Account editor in a new tab.

You'll see the editor with a **Profile** page preview on the right and an **Apps** sidebar on the left listing all available Joy blocks.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
**Add Loyalty Hub page to your account**

In the left sidebar, find **Joy: Loyalty Hub** in the apps list. Click the **+** icon next to it.

A dropdown will appear showing **Add page to → Accounts**. Click **Accounts** to add the Loyalty Hub as a full page in your customer account.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
**Add to the navigation menu**

After adding the page, a prompt will appear at the top asking you to give customers access. You have two options:

* **Create menu** — If you don't have a customer account menu yet
* **Add to menu** — If you already have an existing menu

Click either option. In the menu editor:

1. You'll see **Joy: Loyalty Hub** added as a new menu item alongside **Orders** and **Profile**
2. You can rename the label if you want (e.g., "My Rewards", "Loyalty Hub")
3. Click **Save**
   {% endstep %}

{% step %}
**Verify the result**

After saving, you'll see the Loyalty Hub page live in the editor preview. The customer account navigation now shows a **Joy: Loyalty Hub** tab next to Orders and Profile.

Customers can click this tab to access their full loyalty page with points balance, coupons, earning opportunities, and more.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

### Loyalty Hub vs. Account Page Blocks

You might wonder how the Loyalty Hub relates to the existing account page blocks (Loyalty Dashboard, Rewards Redemption, Referral Management).

|                | Loyalty Hub                                                     | Account Page Blocks               |
| -------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------- | --------------------------------- |
| **Type** | Full dedicated page | Small blocks on profile page |
| **Content** | All 8 loyalty sections in one page | Individual features per block |
| **Navigation** | Separate tab in customer account menu | Embedded in the main profile page |
| **Best for** | Stores with active loyalty programs that want a rich experience | Quick loyalty info at a glance |

**They work together** — you can have both enabled. Account page blocks give a quick summary, while the Loyalty Hub provides the full experience. You can even add a "View full Loyalty Hub →" link from your blocks to guide customers to the full page.

### FAQs

#### What's the difference between the Loyalty Hub and Account Page Blocks?

Both live inside Shopify's New Customer Accounts, but they serve different purposes:

* **Account Page Blocks** (Loyalty Dashboard, Rewards Redemption, Referral Management) are individual widgets you add to the main **Profile** page. Each block shows one piece of loyalty info — points balance, coupons, referral link — embedded alongside the customer's name, address, and order history.
* **The Loyalty Hub** is a **separate, full-page experience** — its own tab in the account navigation, dedicated entirely to your loyalty program. It brings all 8 sections (points, coupons, earning actions, redemption, VIP, referrals, wallet, history) into one place.

Think of blocks as a quick snapshot on the profile page, and the Hub as the loyalty program's own home page inside the account.

**Can I use both at the same time?** Yes — they complement each other. Blocks give customers a quick summary on their profile page, while the Hub provides the full experience. You can even add a "View full Loyalty Hub →" link inside your blocks to guide customers there.

#### Does the Loyalty Hub work with legacy/classic customer accounts?

No. The Loyalty Hub only works with Shopify's **New Customer Accounts**. If your store still uses legacy accounts, you'll need to switch to the new customer accounts first.

#### Can customers who left the loyalty program still see the Hub?

No. If a customer has left your loyalty program, the Loyalty Hub page will not display loyalty content for them.

#### What happens if a customer has 0 points?

Each section handles empty states gracefully. For example, the Points Balance section will show 0 points, and the My Coupons section will show a message indicating no coupons are available.

#### Can I customize the text and translations?

Yes. You can customize all text labels through the **Translations** settings in the Joy app. This includes section headings, button labels, and status messages.

#### How does the Loyalty Hub look on mobile?

The Hub is fully responsive. On mobile devices, sections stack in a single column and grids adjust to fit the screen width.
