The free gift program lets customers redeem their points for specific products in your store. When customers redeem their points, they'll receive a unique coupon code that makes their chosen product free. For example, they might use 200 points to get a free product of their choice from your selected offerings.
A free gift program does more than just reward customers – it's a strategic tool for your business growth. By offering products as rewards, you can introduce customers to new items, manage inventory strategically, and create more excitement than traditional discounts. Customers are more motivated to engage with your store when they can see and choose specific products as rewards, driving higher participation in your loyalty program.
Navigate to the Joy Loyalty dashboard and choose Reward programs -> Redeeming programs -> Go to Free gift program and select Add more
Setup rewards: Enter a program name (e.g. "Free Product Rewards" or "Points for Gifts")
Redeemed value: Set the points required to redeem your gifts
Minimum order requirement: Set points requirement (e.g., 200 points for a free gift)
Condition:
Discount combinations: Choose if free gifts can be combined with
Sales channels: Pick where customers can redeem
Usage restrictions: Choose whether everyone or only customer who redeemed can get your discount
Coupon expiration date: Set when discount codes expire
Refund points: Configure refund points option for cancelled orders
Discount code's prefix: You can use default prefix or create custom prefix for your brand
Important note #1: For a product with multiple variants, you can specify which variants are eligible as free gifts. You can select specific variants or all variants for customers to redeem as their free gift.
Important note #2: If a customer redeems a free gift and their cart contains multiple variants of the chosen gift product, the system will automatically apply the discount to the variant with the lowest price.
