As a Shopify Plus merchant, you have the power to customize the checkout UI to create a unique and engaging experience for your customers. So why not take it a step further by upgrading this experience with the ability to redeem rewards directly on the checkout page? This feature not only enhances convenience but also adds an extra layer of satisfaction to your customer's shopping journey. In this article, we’ll guide you through the process of setting up the Redeem at Checkout feature, helping you make the most of your Shopify Plus capabilities.

The "Redeem at Checkout" feature is specifically designed to work with the discount program. It does not apply to the free gift program or free shipping program. The types of rewards customers can redeem at checkout include:

  • Fixed Discount Amount: A set monetary discount.

  • Dynamic Discount Amount: A variable monetary discount based on certain criteria.

  • Discount Percentage: A percentage off the total order value.

This limitation ensures that the checkout process remains streamlined and straightforward for both the merchant and the customer.

Setting Up

Note: Ensure that your Shopify store is on the Enterprise plan and you are using Shopify Plus.

Steps to Enable "Redeem at Checkout Page"

Step 1: Open the Joy application and select the rewards program.

Step 3: Enable the "Redeem at checkout page" feature in the Redeem value section.

Operation Mechanism:

Customers can redeem points directly on the checkout page. When customers choose to apply, the points will be converted into a temporary code and applied to the order.

If customers complete the checkout, the coupon code will be effective and used. However, if customers change their mind and want to redeem a different reward, they can simply cancel the code. The coupon code will disappear, and the points will be returned to the customer.
