Birthday rewards are a great way to make your customers feel special and appreciated. By offering loyalty points or discounts on their birthday, you encourage customers to engage with your store and create a positive connection with your brand. In this guide, we'll walk you through how to set up Birthday Rewards and ensure your customers enjoy celebrating with your store.
Birthday rewards allow customers to earn points or receive discounts on their birthdays. The system will automatically send the reward based on the customerβs birthdate, which they provide during account creation or through profile updates.
Hereβs a quick overview of how the process works:
Customers provide their birthdate: Customers can either enter their birthdate during sign-up or update their profile with this information later.
Automated rewards: On the customerβs birthday, theyβll automatically receive the reward youβve set up, whether itβs a fixed number of points or a discount.
Flexible reward options: You can customize the type of rewardβfixed points, a percentage discount, or a fixed amount discount.
From the Rewards programs page, if you are already on the Pro plan or above, you are good to create the birthday program.
Program name
The program name appears on your widget and loyalty page. Since itβs not a fixed string, it cannot be included in the translation page. If your store operates in a single language, you can name the program in that language. If youβre using multiple languages and are on the Advanced plan, the name will be translated automatically using our translation feature.
By default, we will set the customer date format to: MM/DD/YYYY
, which customer will see on the storefront input.
Birthday rewards are automatically issued to customers on their birthdays stored within our app. You have the flexibility to choose from the following reward options:
Fixed Points: Reward customers with a specific number of loyalty points.
Percentage Discount: Offer a percentage off their next purchase.
Amount Discount: Provide a fixed amount discount for their next order
Choose between "Once per year" or "Once in a lifetime". A "Once per year" reward is a recurring reward given every year, while a "Once in a lifetime" reward is given only once and does not recur in subsequent years.
With the Birthday Rewards program, you can set up automatic email notifications to remind customers to redeem their birthday rewards. These emails encourage reward redemption, drive store visits, and boost revenue through additional orders.
How it works: Once the Birthday Reward notification is enabled, customers will receive an email on their birthday with a reward redemption reminder and a CTA button linking to your store.
Go to Notifications in the Birthday Rewards settings.
Customize the email content to fit your needs.
Send a test email to ensure accuracy.
Once satisfied, turn on the Birthday Rewards program.
No, the customer cannot edit your birthday once it is submitted.
Customers must enter their birthday at least 30 days before their birthday to receive the reward.
