Referral flow explained
Learn how the referral process works with Joy Loyalty. Understand each step, troubleshoot issues, and get answers to FAQs about managing your referral program.
In this section, we'll walk you through the full referral process to help you visualize how it operates from start to finish. This will also assist you in identifying any potential issues and troubleshooting them effectively.
Step 1: Referrers Share Their Links
The referrer shares their unique referral link with a new customer. This customer must be new to your store and should not have an existing account. When they click on the link, theyβll be taken to the landing page youβve set up in your referral settings.
If you are just testing it out with the password store, you need to access using the referral link after entering the store password.
Step 2: Referees Claim Their Rewards
The referred customer fills in their email to claim the reward youβve configured in the program. Once theyβve done this, a pending referral activity will appear in the app.
The pending activity will be shown on your activity page. By this time, the referer will not yet receive their rewards.
Step 3: Referees Make a Purchase
The referred customer needs to place an order using the same email they used to claim their reward.
When they complete their purchase and reach the thank you page, the referral activity will be marked as complete in the app.
FAQs
Why my referrer does not receive their rewards?
There are two common reasons this might happen:
Different Email Addresses: The referred customer may have used one email to claim the reward and a different email when placing the order. Ensure they use the same email for both actions.
App Pixel Disabled: You may have disabled the App pixel, which tracks customer events. Check if the pixel is connected by going to Settings > Customer Events and making sure itβs enabled.
If my customers cheat by using tricks to create multiple accounts for referral rewards, what should I do?
Don't worry! The anti-cheat for referral feature is designed to prevent fraudulent activities within your referral program, ensuring fairness and integrity for all users. This feature is crucial for maintaining a trustworthy environment where genuine referrals are rewarded, and it helps protect your interests against misuse.
To set up the anti-cheat feature, simply follow these steps:
Turn On: Go to the settings and select "Turn on" to enable the anti-cheat feature.
Save Changes: After activating the feature, click on "Save" to apply your changes.
Once activated, the system will automatically prevent users from utilizing the same email addresses or browsers for cheating purposes. Additionally, it will block customers who share the same IP address from claiming referral rewards, significantly reducing the risk of fraud.
We strongly recommend enabling this feature to maximize the protection of your referral program. Take action today to safeguard your program and ensure that genuine referrals are rewarded!
