Who can use Sign up Reward?
This feature is available for: Free, Professional, Advanced, Enterprise plans.
Sign-up rewards are a practical way to attract new members to your loyalty program and keep them engaged from the start. In this guide, we'll cover the essentials: understanding the rules, setting it up, and following best practices to ensure your rewards program runs smoothly.
Sign-up rewards are given to customers when they create an account on your online store. This incentive helps establish an initial connection with your customers, encouraging them to join your loyalty program and begin building a relationship with your brand.
As a merchant, you can customize the type of reward new members will receive upon signing up. The available options include:
Points: Members earn a specified number of loyalty points upon joining.
Discount Amount: Members receive a fixed discount amount for their next purchase.
Discount Percentage: Members get a percentage off their next purchase.
These rewards not only motivate customers to sign up but also encourage them to make their first purchase, strengthening their connection to your store and driving both sales and customer engagement.
Bear in mind that there is a difference between basic customer account and new customer accounts, see the guide here.
Step 1: Navigate to the Joy Loyalty dashboard and choose Reward programs -> Earn programs -> Choose Add more -> Choose Sign up.
Step 2: Name your program
The program name appears on your widget and loyalty page. Since itβs not a fixed string, it cannot be included in the translation page. If your store operates in a single language, you can name the program in that language. If youβre using multiple languages and are on the Advanced plan, the name will be translated automatically using our translation feature.
Step 3: Set up the reward that new members will receive:
Points: The most basic one. Rewards customers with a small amount of points, normally it will not be enough for customers to redeem a coupon yet. It will drive customers to take more action to earn the first reward.
Discount Amount & Discount Percentage: With this option, you will reward customers with ready-to-go coupons. If you want to drive the customer to use the coupon for their first purchase immediately, this is a good option to go for.
Just like I mentioned above, the coupon will mostly be ready-to-go. So if you need extra conditioning for the coupon such as first welcome coupons for an order over $100, whether the customer can combine this coupon with free shipping coupons or not, etc:
Customize Discount Codeβs Prefix: Create your own code prefix.
Applicable Categories: Define the scope of the discount code.
Minimum Order Requirement: Minimum amount of the order for the coupon to be valid.
Operating Time: Set the expiration date for the discount code.
Combinations: Configure whether this discount can be combined with other discounts.
Sale Channels: Set the sales channels where this discount can be applied.
Setting up Sign-Up Rewards is a practical way to grow your loyalty program and boost initial engagement. By offering rewards like points, discounts, or percentage-based savings, you can encourage more customers to join and start shopping with your store.
