Manage B2B companies
See every Shopify B2B company in Joy, track how far each one is from its next Partner tier, and move a company to a different tier by hand.
This feature is available on Advanced and Ultimate plans, for Shopify stores that use B2B (opens in a new tab). Shopify B2B is not available on Shopify Starter.
Overview
The Companies page is where you manage the B2B companies that Partner Tiers (B2B) rewards. Every Shopify B2B company gets a row with its Partner tier, spend, customers and locations, and a profile where you can see how much more it needs to spend to reach the next tier, read its order and tier history, and change its tier yourself.
Spend, orders, customers and locations are read from Shopify, so they match what you see in your Shopify admin. Partner tier and tier spent come from Joy.
Before you start
- Joy Loyalty on the Advanced or Ultimate plan
- A Shopify store with B2B enabled (opens in a new tab) and at least one B2B company in your Shopify admin
- Your Partner tiers program launched. Until it is, Partner tier and Tier spent show
--and you cannot change a company's tier. See Partner Tiers (B2B) to set it up.
View your companies
- From your Shopify admin, go to Apps → Joy Loyalty
- Click Companies
The table shows one row per company:
| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Company | The company name |
| Partner tier | The company's current Partner tier. Shows -- until your Partner tiers program is launched |
| Tier spent | The spend Joy counts toward tier progress, from your Partner tiers start date. Shows -- until the program is launched |
| Locations | How many locations the company has |
| Customers | How many customers belong to the company |
| Total orders | How many orders the company has placed |
| Total Spent | The company's total spend in Shopify |
| Last updated | How long ago the company changed. Hover to see the exact date and time |
Search by company name. Sort by Updated (newest or oldest first) or by Total Spent (high to low or low to high). Sort by Total Spent to bring your largest accounts to the top. The table shows 10 companies per page.
Click a row, or the edit icon at the end of it, to open the company profile. On a small screen the table becomes a compact list with the name, tier, locations, orders and spend.
Read a company profile
The Overview shows the company name, Partner tier, total spent, the date it became a customer, when it was last updated, and how many locations and customers it has.
If a higher Partner tier is next, the Overview shows tier progress, as Spend [amount] more to reach [next tier], along with Tier spent against the next tier's target. A company on your highest tier shows its tier spent against that tier's target.
Below the Overview:
- Customers: each customer's name and email. Click View all for the full list
- Locations: each location with its city. Click View all for the full list
- Activities: the company's order and Partner tier history, with a tab for All, Orders or Partner tier
Use View in Shopify to open the company in your Shopify admin, and Refresh data to reload the profile.
Change a company's Partner tier
Changing the Partner tier directly resets the company's tier spent to the new tier's entry amount. Check the confirmation window before you apply the change.
- Open the company profile
- Click Edit next to Overview
- Open the Partner Tier field and choose a different tier. Only active tiers are listed
- In the Tier confirmation window, check the change, which reads [current tier] ([tier spent]) → [new tier] ([entry amount]), then confirm
Joy then updates the company. The new tier's benefits, such as catalog access and payment terms, follow the company. The change is logged in the company's Activities as made by an admin, and a move to a lower tier is logged as a demotion.
Edit is disabled until your Partner tiers program is launched.
How a company's tier changes on its own
You do not have to set tiers by hand. Joy moves a company as its spend grows:
- Orders count toward tier spent as they come in, even if fulfillment is still pending
- A new company starts on the highest tier its order spend since your start date already qualifies for, or on the entry tier if it has none
- If you delete a tier, companies on it move to the highest remaining tier their spend qualifies for
Troubleshooting
I do not see Companies in the Joy navigation. Check that you are on the Advanced or Ultimate plan, that your Shopify store is not on Shopify Starter, and that your store has at least one B2B company. Then reload Joy.
Partner tier shows --. Launch your Partner tiers program first. See Partner Tiers (B2B).
Tier spent is lower than Total Spent. Total Spent is the company's spend in Shopify. Tier spent is what Joy counts toward tiers from your program's start date, and it resets when you change a tier by hand.
The numbers on a profile look out of date. Click Refresh data to reload it.
