Types of alerts
Joy Wishlist has four alerts. Each one fires on a different change to a saved item, and you turn each one on separately.
Compare the alerts
| Alert | Sent when | What you set | Product scope | On your storefront |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Back in stock | A saved item is back in stock | Nothing, it fires on restock | You choose | Notify me button (optional) |
| Price drop | A saved item drops below the price it was saved at | Minimum % drop or Any drop | Every saved item | Nothing |
| Low stock | A saved option drops to your threshold or fewer | Threshold, and an optional minimum stock | You choose | Low stock message (optional) |
| Wishlist reminder | Saved items have waited the number of days you set | Days, minimum items, frequency | Every saved item | Nothing |
You find all four on the Notifications page, under Notification types.
What every alert shares
- Supported sending methods: Joy Wishlist built-in email, a Marketing app such as Klaviyo, and Wallet pass with Joy Loyalty. You pick once, for every alert. See Sending settings.
- Send schedule and sender details: set once on the Notifications page, for every alert.
- Its own email: each alert has its own subject, text and banner in the Email builder.
- Off by default: an alert sends nothing until you turn it on and save.
- One email per alert: if a shopper is due for more than one alert at the same time, each goes out as its own email, 5 minutes apart, in this order: Back in stock, Price drop, Low stock, Wishlist reminder.
Which alert to start with
- Back in stock: you often sell out and restock.
- Price drop: you run sales or change prices often.
- Low stock: you carry limited stock, drops or small batches.
- Wishlist reminder: shoppers save items and don't come back. It works for any store.
Each alert page takes you through the whole setup, from choosing a sending method to testing the alert. You don't need to read the others first.
