Wishlist in the Unified Widget

Requires the Unified Widget and either Swym Wishlist Plus or Wishlist King installed on your store.

Overview

The Unified Widget's wishlist already works with Joy Wishlist. Now it also works with two of the most-used third-party wishlist apps — Swym Wishlist Plus and Wishlist King. If you use either, Joy detects it automatically and shows your customers' saved products right inside the loyalty widget — no setup, no extra configuration.

Previously, a store on a different wishlist app saw no wishlist in the Joy widget. Now the experience carries over.

What customers see

  • Their saved products appear in the widget's wishlist tab, pulled live from Swym or Wishlist King.
  • The heart on Joy product cards adds and removes items — and the change shows in the wishlist app's own heart and count automatically.
  • Hearting a product in the app's own UI syncs back into the Joy widget.

Note: Joy only displays and syncs the wishlist. The wishlist itself — its emails, sharing, and settings — is still managed in Swym or Wishlist King.

Before you start

  • Your store uses the Unified Widget (not Classic).
  • You have Swym Wishlist Plus or Wishlist King installed and active on your storefront.

How to set it up

You don't configure the wishlist app inside Joy — you turn the Wishlist extension on, and Joy detects the app automatically.

1

Open the Unified Widget editor

Go to On-site content → Widget → Unified Widget, then open the Extensions section.

2

Turn on the Wishlist extension

Enable the Wishlist extension. Its status shows On.

3

Joy detects your wishlist app

If Swym or Wishlist King is active on your storefront, Joy detects it automatically. The Wishlist extension's status shows it's installed via that app, and a banner confirms the app is active on your storefront — for example, "Swym is active on your storefront." Joy won't add its own wishlist icons on top of the app's.

Manage wishlist settings — guest wishlist, sharing, emails, and so on — in the Swym or Wishlist King app as usual. Joy reads from the app and keeps the widget in sync.

You can still style how the wishlist appears in the widget under Display settingsWishlist layout (Carousel, Grid, or List), product image hover effect, and an empty-state image.

If more than one wishlist app is installed, Joy uses one in this priority order: Joy Wishlist → Avada → Wishlist King → Swym — so only one app drives the widget and there's no double-writing.

FAQ

Do I need to set anything up? Just turn on the Wishlist extension in the Unified Widget editor. You don't pick or configure the wishlist app — Joy detects Swym or Wishlist King automatically.

Which wishlist apps are supported? Joy Wishlist, Avada, Wishlist King, and Swym Wishlist Plus. Other wishlist apps aren't supported yet.

Can I choose which wishlist app Joy uses? No — Joy detects it automatically, in priority order (Joy Wishlist → Avada → Wishlist King → Swym). Most stores run a single wishlist app, so there's nothing to pick; if two are installed, the higher-priority one drives the widget.

Where do I manage wishlist settings? In the wishlist app itself (Swym or Wishlist King). Joy reads from it and keeps the widget in sync — it doesn't change your wishlist settings.

I use two wishlist apps — which one shows? Joy picks one by priority: Joy Wishlist, then Avada, then Wishlist King, then Swym. Only one is active in the widget at a time.
