This feature offers a fantastic opportunity to boost customer engagement and loyalty. With VIP Tiers, you can unlock a world of exclusive benefits and rewards, helping you to build lasting relationships with your most valued customers and drive ongoing business growth.
In this article, we'll guide you step-by-step through the process of configuring your VIP tier/membership programs.
Why You Should Customize Your VIP Tier Program?β
You might be wondering why you should customize your VIP tier program. Well, it's simple. Customization allows you to tailor rewards and benefits to suit the preferences and behaviors of your unique customer base. This way, you can create a more personalized and engaging experience for your customers, which can lead to increased satisfaction and loyalty.
Moreover, customization helps you align your VIP program with your brand identity and business goals, ensuring that it effectively supports your overall strategy for growth and success.
Understanding the Rules
In the VIP Tier settings, you have 5 sections to edit:
General settings: Choose the VIP Tier calculating rule; ustomize the discount codeβs prefix; set up Tier Demotion and Tier Reset.
Tiers: Edit names for the tiers; set rules for the existing tiers; set entry rewards for the existing tiers; add or delete tiers.
Design: Customize membership cards and change logos for VIP tiers.
Notification: Instant notifications will be sent to your customers upon reaching a new VIP tier in your loyalty program.
Launch: Review the rules for the entire VIP tier program and choose to relaunch the VIP tier program.
Before we guide you on how to set up VIP Tiers for your loyalty program, we want to first explain how to save and implement changes in the VIP Tier settings.
When you edit, add, or remove anything in any section of the VIP tier program, the "Preview & Launch" and "Save & Next" buttons will appear for you to choose:
Save & next: Temporarily save your changes in the current settings section and move to the next section. These changes will only be temporarily saved. To apply these changes to your loyalty program, you must go to the launch section and select "Launch". Only then will all your changes be implemented.
Preview and launch: Immediately take you to the launch section, where you can overview your VIP Tiers program, relaunch the program, or deactivate the VIP Tiers program.
Note: If you have made any changes or adjustments to the VIP Tiers program in a particular section, clicking Preview & Launch will not save your changes. Please click Save & Next before selecting Preview & Launch to avoid losing these settings.
After understanding the rules of VIP Tiers program, it's time to set up your VIP Tiers program.
Set up VIP Tiersβ
General settings
In the General settings section, you'll find common settings for the VIP Tiers program, including the rules for how the VIP Tiers program operates and the duration of the VIP Tiers program.
Tier Calculating Rule: Define the method for calculating customer tiers. This setting determines how customers move between tiers based on Earned points or amount spend.
Customize Discount Codeβs Prefix: Personalize the prefix for discount codes generated within your VIP Tiers program. The discount code will start with the keyword you enter below. Note: the code's prefix must be in the format ABCD-.
Tier Demotion: Select the action you want to take on the customer's tier when they haven't made a purchase for a period of time. You can also set up notifications to remind customers to visit your store and earn points to maintain their tier status.
Tier Reset: Automatically reset the tier of all customers at the selected time. This is an optional setting that you can enable or disable. If you do not enable this setting, the tiers of your customers will never reset automatically.

In the tiers settings, you can adjust the name and the milestones that customers need to reach to get this tier.
Add tiers
To add more tiers, simply click on Add new tier:
When adding a new tier even after clicking save & next, you will still need to go to the launch section and initiate the launch of the program again for the customer tiers to be updated and accurately assigned.
Add entry rewards
Add exclusive rewards that will only be activated once customers achieve this tier. To select the rewards you want, please click on Add Rewards at Entry Rewards.
"Entry rewards" are the incentives or benefits that customers receive upon joining a loyalty program or reaching a certain tier within that program. These rewards are designed to encourage customer engagement and retention.
In the context of our loyalty program, "Entry rewards" work by offering customers immediate benefits or perks when they first enroll in the program or achieve a new tier. With us, entry rewards include a discount amount/percentage on their purchase, free shipping, free products, and bonus points.
Discount Amountβ
Customers will receive a discount of a fixed amount which can only be used once and is only valid for that one customer.
After deciding on the discount amount for customers, you can determine the minimum amount required for customers to be eligible for this discount, as well as select which products can be applied with this discount amount.
Discount Percentageβ
Customers will receive a certain X% discount code which can only be used once and is valid for only one customer.
Just like the discount amount, you can set a minimum purchase amount for the discount percentage to apply. You can also designate which products or categories this discount applies to, providing you with the flexibility to drive sales where you need them most.
Free Shippingβ
Customers will receive a free shipping discount code for their orders.
Offering free shipping as an entry reward can be a powerful incentive for customers. It's a great way to thank them for joining your VIP program and encourage them to start shopping right away. You can set specific conditions for this reward, such as a minimum purchase amount or specific eligible products.
Free Productβ
Customers will receive a discount as a coupon code for a particular product.
A free product reward is a fantastic way to introduce customers to a new product or simply to say thank you. You can choose the specific product you'd like to offer, making this reward a versatile tool for promoting various items in your catalog.
Bonus Pointβ
Customers will receive bonus points upon joining or leveling up in the VIP program.
Bonus points can be a great motivator for customers to continue engaging with your brand. They can accumulate these points to redeem exclusive rewards or discounts in the future, enhancing their overall shopping experience.
Design
In the design section, you can customize the entire interface of the virtual membership cards for each tier. This virtual card allows users to easily track their current reward points and monitor their progress toward tier advancements. By providing a clear visual representation of their membership status, the card encourages customers to continue engaging with the program to unlock additional benefits.
The membership card can be customized to align with the brandβs aesthetic, ensuring a seamless integration into the overall user experience. Joy allows you to easily customize the background, images, colors, and logo of the membership card. Additionally, Joy allows you to create multiple membership card designs corresponding to each tier in the VIP Tier program. Each membership tier can have a distinct card, adding an extra layer of appeal to your VIP tier program.
Notification
Setting up notifications to send to customers when they reach a new tier in the VIP tiers program.
Set up the VIP Tier achieved notification similar to other notifications settings. If you encounter any difficulties, please review the notifications settings here.
Launch
When you reach the launch section, you're almost done setting up the VIP tier for your store. In this launch section, review the VIP tiers program details. If everything looks good, proceed to launch to save your settings. If adjustments are needed, make them before launching.
If you want to stop the VIP Tiers program, simply choose "Deactivate".
